Camp Kilowatt
Camp Kilowatt is a fun and unique camp experience for sixth-grade students going into seventh grade across Indiana. In 2025, camp takes place June 4-7 at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, Indiana. Kids get the chance to learn more about energy while making new friends and enjoying fun activities and games.

Youth Tour to the Capital
During the month of June, Indiana’s electric cooperatives sponsor a group of students going into their senior year of high school to go on a life-changing educational adventure to Washington, D.C. This year, the youth tour trip will take place June 15-22.
Highlights of this seven-day trip include visits to historical monuments and museums, meetings on Capitol Hill with Indiana’s congressional delegation, the opportunity to make lifelong friends, and much more.
The 2025 Youth Tour trip's expenses are paid for students selected to participate.

Cooperative Calendar of Student Art Contest
Indiana Electric Cooperatives’ Calendar Art Contest is open to all K-12 students who want to create an illustration for the cooperative annual wall calendar. A first-place artist will be selected for each grade, and the winners will receive a $200 prize. In addition, the artwork for each grade division winner will illustrate the cover and all 12 months of the calendar.
Submissions for the 2026 calendar are open, and the entry deadline is February 28, 2025.
Youth Power and Hope Awards
The Youth Power and Hope Awards is presented by Indiana Connection Magazine and the Indiana Electric Cooperatives. The annual program is for students in fifth through eighth grades who are active leaders in their community and whose parents live in Indiana. Being a leader in the community can mean anything from volunteering at your church to being involved with 4-H to helping support local hospitals or other community organizations.
All you have to do to enter is share how you’re making a positive difference in your community! Winners will receive $500 and be featured in an upcoming issue of Indiana Connection.
Applications are due Friday, October 4, 2024.
Note: The applicant's parent(s)/guardian(s) must be a member of an Indiana electric cooperative to apply.

Youth Hope Power and Hope Awards
John H. Anglin Scholarship
Kosciusko REMC is thrilled to offer the John H. Anglin Scholarship to assist members or their dependents financially in pursuing higher education. Each year, 10 applicants are chosen by a committee to receive a $1,000 scholarship toward tuition for the upcoming school year at a higher-learning institution of their choice.
To apply, the student must complete the application form below, and submit a video answering the application questions. Parents or guardians of students may help, but the student must be the one to fill out the application and answer the questions. Applications must be submitted by April 1, 2025.
Scholarship recipients will be contacted by May 15, 2025, and announced during the KREMC Annual Meeting.
Enrollment verification is required to claim the scholarship money. Payment will be sent directly to the institution on the student’s behalf.
Video Application Guidelines
1. Introduction:
o Begin your video by introducing yourself with your first name only. Do not mention your last name or any other personally identifying information.
2. Content:
o Answer all the questions provided in the scholarship application. Ensure you address each question thoroughly and clearly.
o Do not mention if you are related to or personally know any employee or board member of KREMC. These relationships do not influence the selection process and should not be included in your video.
3. Presentation:
o You should be the only person visible in the video. Ensure that no other individuals appear in the background.
o Choose a quiet, well-lit location to record your video to ensure good audio and visual quality.
o Film your video in landscape orientation. This means holding your camera or phone horizontally, so the video is wider than it is tall. This format is preferred for a more professional and visually appealing presentation.
4. Length:
o Keep your video concise and to the point. Aim for a duration that allows you to fully answer all questions without unnecessary elaboration.
5. Submission:
o Record your video in high definition quality (1080p) or higher. Ensure the file format is either MP4 or MOV.
o Instructions for iPhone:
1. Open the Camera app.
2. Swipe to select "Video" mode.
3. Hold your phone horizontally to ensure landscape orientation.
4. Tap the red record button to start recording.
5. Tap the red record button again to stop recording.
6. Review your video in the Photos app and ensure it meets the guidelines.

4-H Scholarship
Each year, Kosciusko REMC awards scholarships to ten students involved in 4-H who live in the KREMC service territory. A committee chooses the scholarship recipients to receive $350 to be used toward expenses for any 4-H project.
To apply, the student must complete the application form below, and submit a video answering the application questions. A parent or guardian can help if needed, but the student should complete the application themself. Applications must be submitted by April 1, 2025.
