Meet Our John H Anglin Scholarship Recipient – McKale Hagg

John H. Anglin Scholarship

Every year, Kosciusko REMC awards ten $1,000 scholarships to go towards the recipient’s chosen institution of higher education for the upcoming school year. Concern for Community is one of KREMC’s core principles, and investing in our local college students is one way we do this every year. Read on to see how this scholarship has impacted one of our recipients, McKale Hagg.

Can you introduce yourself and where you are attending school?

My name is McKale Hagg. I am attending school at Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your educational journey?

I graduated from Warsaw High School in 2024. I am currently a sophomore pursuing three majors at Johnson University which include Bible and Theology, Ministry Leadership, and Accounting. I have been able to do two church internships in my hometown—First Christian Church of Warsaw, Indiana and Dynamic Church in Silver Lake. These opportunities have helped me to put my classroom training into practice and have given me some real-world experience.

How did you hear about our scholarship program?

I heard about this scholarship program because my sister received this scholarship when she was in college and I saw how much of a difference it made in the financing of her education. Information regarding the scholarship was easy to find on the KREMC website.

How did receiving this scholarship make a difference in your educational path?

Receiving this scholarship was a huge blessing. I am able to more fully concentrate on my studies without the need of having to worry as much about the financial impact of college. This also frees up more of my time so I can engage in volunteer activities such as serving at the local homeless shelter downtown and playing the drums for a student-led worship band.

What are some key things you have learned or achieved during your time as a student?
