Warsaw, Ind. (April 1st, 2026) – Kosciusko REMC (KREMC) volunteered with Habitat for Humanity on Thursday, March 26th as a part of KREMC’s Wired to Serve Program. This program is new this year and provides quarterly opportunities for KREMC employees to serve at local non-profits in the community.
“We are excited to provide opportunities for our employees to go out into the community and support local non-profits. Serving our members and our community as a whole is at the heart of what we do, and this program creates a fun and practical avenue for us to do that.” said Tim Landrigan, President & CEO of KREMC.
Eight KREMC employees volunteered over the course of the day at a Habitat for Humanity site in Warsaw, totaling 28 hours of combined service. They primarily worked on installing flooring in the house. This particular house is being built for a mom and her two kids.
“I had a fantastic experience today. It was fun to work alongside a co-worker I don’t usually work with. It was awesome meeting the homeowner and seeing who will be living in the house when it’s finished. I was involved with building a home with Habitat for Humanity about 14 years ago, and it was fun to be part of it again. I had forgotten how much fun it was to use power tools and build something with my hands!” Stephanie Scott, Vice President of Member Services at KREMC shared about her experience volunteering.
Habitat for Humanity in Kosciusko County is a non-profit whose mission is to seek to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Their core purpose is to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter, focusing on creating decent, affordable housing in partnership with families in need.
“We try to build according to the needs of the family. This house is about 1,100 square feet, little bit over and it fits the needs of this family perfectly for where they're at right now in life. We found out in Habitat for Humanity that about 80-85% of families that receive a Habitat home will stay in that home the rest of their lives,” Construction Manager at Habitat for Humanity, Dennis Judy, explained, highlighting the difference a house can make in a family’s life.
