KREMC LINEMEN 2026

When the lights come on, it’s easy to forget the work it takes to make that happen. But behind every switch flipped and every outage restored is a group of people who show up day after day, often in tough conditions, to keep our community powered.

Our linemen and line crews work in a high risk environment, facing long hours, unpredictable weather, and demanding conditions that most people never see. As one lineman put it, “We’re up in a danger zone every day.” It’s a reality of the job that requires constant focus, skill, and trust in the people beside you.

Trade Built on Commitment and Teamwork

Whether they came into the trade looking for a challenge, a career, or simply something different, one thing our linemen consistently point to is the people.

“It really is a brotherhood,” shared apprentice Hayden Parker. “We all stick together.”
That teamwork matters, especially when the work is physical, the hours are long, and the stakes are high. These crews rely on one another not just to get the job done, but to do it safely.

From seasoned linemen with decades of experience to apprentices learning the trade, each role matters. Experience brings knowledge and leadership. Newer team members bring determination and a fresh perspective. Together, they form a crew built on trust, accountability, and shared responsibility.

Long Hours, Real Impact

Many don’t realize how demanding the work can be. Linemen regularly work overnight, through storms, and on holidays, often responding to outages when the rest of us are sheltering at home.

“We work really hard at all times of the night,” said Josh Salazar. For many, one of the most rewarding parts of the job is restoring power to people who are without it, knowing their work directly impacts homes, families, and businesses across the community.

Experience That Matters

Our team includes employees celebrating milestones across many years of service, from apprentices just beginning their journey to team members with more than 20 years in the trade. Longevity brings confidence, safety awareness, and the ability to mentor the next generation. As Isaac Harp shared, pride comes from “staying safe, getting the work done, and learning a lot.” That steady commitment is what keeps our system reliable and our crews prepared.
