Salazar Celebrates 5-Year Service Anniversary
In the heart of our community, where keeping the lights on is more than just a job, linemen like Joshua Salazar are the unsung heroes. Recently, Salazar celebrated a significant milestone—his 5-year service anniversary with Kosciusko REMC. We appreciate Salazar taking the time to speak with us so we can learn more about his career and life outside the co-op world.
Salazar began his career with the town of Argos, Indiana. He completed their apprenticeship program and then became a journeyman. Salazar enjoys the work of a lineman.
“It’s rewarding to help people get their power back on after a storm or incident knocks out their electricity,” he shared.
Salazar also appreciates the knowledge he has gained during his time with the cooperative and emphasized an appreciation for how KREMC prioritizes safety.
“I have learned so much since coming to KREMC,” said Salazar. “They put safety in the right perspective; never sacrificing safety for speed in order to hurry up and get something done,” he continued.
Outside of work, Salazar said he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons.
“We enjoy being outside a lot. We mountain bike, dirt bike, and enjoy fishing and hunting as a family,” he said.
As Salazar reaches this significant milestone, his dedication and expertise continue to make a positive impact on both his colleagues and the community he serves. We are proud to have him as a part of our cooperative family.
