Employee Spotlight - Laura Seney

KREMC recently welcomed Laura Seney to the team as their Marketing & Communications Specialist. We sat down with Laura to learn more about her.

What brought you to work for KREMC?

I knew from word of mouth that KREMC was a great place to work, and everyone in the community had positive things to say about the company. When I saw a position open up here, it just made sense to apply. I am excited to work for a company that invests in and cares about the local community.

Can you share a bit about your prior work experience?

After graduating from Grace College, I started my career in marketing at a small, digital marketing agency. After that, I worked for the Kosciusko County Convention & Visitor Bureau as their Marketing & Communications Director for three years. This experience working at a non-profit organization made transitioning into working for a cooperative like KREMC a practical move.

What are you most excited about when it comes to your role as Marketing & Communications Specialist?

I’m excited to learn the ins and outs of the cooperative world, and also learn how to use the wealth of equipment and resources KREMC has available. I look forward to promoting all of the ways KREMC is investing in our community.

What have your first few months been like?

I have been learning how to use lots of new equipment and picking up new skills, such as professional audio recording and editing! Everyone has been very friendly and welcoming, making the transition to working here easy and enjoyable.

What else would you like to share with us regarding your life outside of work?

I am originally from Toledo, Ohio and moved to Winona Lake five years ago. So far, I have loved living in this area and seeing everything the community and local lakes have to offer. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and stepdaughter, reading, creative writing, and walking the local trails.
