Kosciusko REMC Aids The Beaman Home for Co-op Community Day
Employees from KREMC contributed cleanup and chalk drawing to the local nonprofit
Warsaw, Ind. (Oct. 18, 2022) – Kosciusko REMC (KREMC) sent employees to The Beaman Home and its resale store, Mary Ann’s Place, to provide cleanup and organizational aid on Friday, Oct. 14. KREMC’s contribution was a part of its participation in Co-op Community Day, an event recognized by electric cooperatives across Indiana by helping local organizations with chores and hands-on work.
The Beaman Home provides confidential services to individuals affected by domestic violence. Their thrift shop, Mary Ann’s Place, supports The Beaman Home by donating its proceeds and needed resale items. KREMC donated work to both locations as a local, member-owned and nonprofit electric cooperative.
At the Beaman Home, KREMC employees Haley Donahue, Marilyn Homme and Tara Phillips decorated the front entrance with pumpkins, corn husks and chalk drawings.
“Bringing life to the entrance of the Beaman Home brought so much joy,” said Member Service Representative, Haley Donahue, “It was also nice to see what other needs they have. I encourage everyone to help our community in any way they can!”
At Mary Ann’s Place, KREMC employees Nichole Fifer, Tara Haack and Molly Studebaker cleaned the outside windows and raked fallen leaves from the surrounding landscape.
“I love volunteering my time to help others. They were so appreciative about the work that was getting done around the building,” said Member Service Representative, Molly Studebaker.
In 2022, 26 electric cooperatives participated in Indiana Electric Cooperative’s annual Community Day. Kosciusko REMC’s mission to aid the community was one of 40 service projects completed by the participating cooperatives in Indiana on Community Day this year.
Kosciusko REMC is a Touchstone Energy® electric cooperative serving over 18,000 accounts throughout Kosciusko County and into surrounding counties.
