Shining a light on John H. Anglin Scholarship Recipient
Anna Arter
The John H. Anglin Scholarship program awards ten $1000 scholarships annually to KREMC members and/or their dependents who are pursuing higher education. We are pleased to introduce some of these outstanding students to you. Their accomplishments to date are inspiring and their futures are extraordinarily bright.
This week, we spoke with 2024 scholarship recipient Anna Arter.
KREMC: Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Anna Arter, and I am a student at Manchester University. In my free time, I frequently can be found spending time outside playing tennis and pickleball, baking various recipes in the kitchen, and spending time with family and friends.
KREMC: Can you share some details about the field of study you've chosen and why it resonates with you?
Ranging from working in the hospital with groups of healthcare professionals seeking to provide the best patient care, to a retail pharmacy counseling patients on their medications, to a research lab attempting to create new medications, the pharmacy field holds so many invigorating yet meaningful career paths. I feel drawn to providing compassionate healthcare to patients and am eager to discover which pathway in pharmacy suits me as I continue my education and work as a pharmacist in my community.
KREMC: Have you been involved in any notable extracurricular activities, volunteer work, or leadership roles that have shaped your character and skills?
While working in the pharmacy part-time during school, I have gained incredible experience working with patients, increased my skill set by earning multiple certifications, and learned the importance of working with compassion and kindness in the healthcare field.
KREMC: What does receiving this scholarship mean to you, and how will it support your educational endeavors?
I am immensely thankful to have received the John H. Anglin Scholarship and honored to have generous donors in the community entrust me with the scholarship as I continue to attend Manchester University to earn an AS Pre-Pharmacy Studies degree before attending pharmacy school. With this scholarship, I can focus on my educational goals and earn an education that I can use to give back to the community in the future.
