Kosciusko REMC EV Test Drive

Experience a Success

Warsaw, Ind. (Oct. 31, 2023) - On October 14, Kosciusko REMC (KREMC) held their second annual EV Test Drive Experience. KREMC members were invited to test drive one of five electric vehicles and learn more about EV technology at no cost to them. Two Tesla Models 3s, a Ford Mustang Mach-E, and two Chevy Bolts were on hand for the event. Drivers pre-registered for a time slot and vehicle of their choice. The test drive route was a predetermined ten-minute excursion that provided a mix of highway and country travel.

“We had an excellent turnout for this year’s event and are pleased to see it expand,” said Kurt Carver, KREMC President and CEO. “Attendees expressed their appreciation for the unique opportunity to test drive an EV outside of a sales-related setting. As an electric cooperative, we are always striving to contribute valuable learning opportunities to our community.”

KREMC employees and representatives from Wabash Valley Power Alliance and Kankakee Valley REMC were present to answer questions and share printed information with members. Jay County REMC also contributed to the success of the test drive event. As an added bonus, Armando’s Tacos food truck was on-site, and free meals were provided to co-op members who test drove an EV.

Customer Engagement Specialist Haley Donahue rode along with KREMC members who chose to drive the Mustang. It was her second year helping with the EV Test Drive Experience.

“I love being able to watch this event grow and to see how the community enjoys visiting our co-op to learn about innovations in electricity,” Donahue said.
