Meet Our 4-H Scholarship Recipient, Olivia Parker
4-H Scholarship
Every year, Kosciusko REMC awards ten $350 scholarships to members who participate in 4-H to go towards their 4-H projects. Concern for Community is one of KREMC’s core principles, and investing in our local youth is one way we do this every year. 4-H programs have been shown to build skills such as leadership, communication, community engagement, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills as well as fostering a sense of belonging and connection. Read on to see how our 4-H Scholarship has benefited scholarship recipient, Olivia Parker.
Meet Oliva Parker
Olivia Parker is a 6th grader at Tippecanoe Vally Middle School. She has been apart of 4-H for 3 years now. She loves animals and wants to make a career out of her love for animals.
4-H Experience
One of Olivia’s favorite experiences in 4-H so far was when she won the Dairy Calf Feed Street Beginner Showman this year. The KREMC 4-H Scholarship allows her to buy important supplies she needed, such as new clippers, halters, and feed for her animals.
Lessons Learned through 4-H
“I learned that hard work is the key to success!” Olivia Parker said, when asked what she had learned through 4-H. Clearly, Olivia and our other 4-H recipients are learning important lessons that they will carry into adulthood through this program.
