Meet Our 4-H Scholarship Recipient, Ace Richcreek
4-H Scholarship
Every year, Kosciusko REMC awards ten $350 scholarships to members who participate in 4-H to go towards their 4-H projects. Concern for Community is one of KREMC’s core principles, and investing in our local youth is one way we do this every year. 4-H programs have been shown to build skills such as leadership, communication, community engagement, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills as well as fostering a sense of belonging and connection. Read on to see how our 4-H Scholarship has benefited scholarship recipient, Ace Richcreek.
Meet Ace Richcreek
Ace Richcreek is a 5th grader who attends Washington STEM Elementary in Warsaw. This was his second year in 4-H.
4-H Experience
In his free time, Ace enjoys riding horses and dirt bikes. He also enjoys participating in 4-H.
“4-H is really fun because I get to show lots of different animals. I’ve also made many new friends through 4-H, which makes it even more special,” Ace said about the experience. The KREMC 4-H scholarship allowed Ace to buy animals for his 4-H projects. It opened the door for him to be able to care for and show these animals.
Lessons Learned Through 4-H
“I learned that taking care of animals takes a lot of hard work. I also learned they need consistency in their training to do well,” Ace said when asked what he has learned through 4-H. KREMC is excited to continue to support students like Ace with their 4-H programs in the future.
