Grant Application Opens for Kosciusko REMC’s EnviroWatts Program

Warsaw, Ind. (August 4^th, 2026) – Kosciusko REMC (KREMC) is opening grant applications for the EnviroWatts program, a program designed to benefit non-profit organizations focused on improving the environment locally in Kosciusko County and the surrounding area. This year, KREMC will be awarding $3,600 in grants total.

This program is made possible through partnership with Wabash Valley Power Alliance and by KREMC members who choose to participate and donate 1 cent for each kilowatt-hour they use, up to a max of $7.50 a month. The kilowatt-hours purchased with this money is guaranteed to be generated from a renewable, environmentally friendly source, as well as going into the grant fund to give back to the local community for environmental projects. Members can easily choose to participate in this program by calling KREMC’s office or visiting kremc.com/envirowatts.

Local non-profits applying for the grant must present a project that accomplishes one of the following: develops renewable energy source and resources, reduces energy use, improves water quality of rivers, streams and underground aquifers, improves air quality of local area, enhances species diversity, creates or restores habitat for wildlife, plants trees or native plants, encourages recycling, educates individuals about safe disposal waste, or educates the public or students on environmental issues.

Application submissions will be open until September 4^th, 2026. Funding decisions will be made in September 2026 and grants will be awarded in October 2026.
